Presentation Communication

Presentation History
We started to look at how presentation can be used for communicating. We first looked at early stages of presentation in the 1700s. A device called the magic lantern projected images using light from burning the chemical lime. Images could then be placed in front of the light to present to a crowd. Presentations are a very effective way of communicating to a large amount of people at once. This is because light presentations would be held in a dark room where the presentation is the main focus point. This led to the sort of projectors that were used in cinemas and can still be used for photograph presentation today.

Presentation Communication
We then started to look how we can communicate a logo/company, celebrity or film name etc. through using images in a PowerPoint presentation. The aim of this task was show that communicating through presentation is effective and efficient in some cases.
Here is a picture presentation that is meant to communicate the film 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

This one is meant to communicate the celebrity Britney Spears

And this one is meant to communicate the owner of microsoft Bill Gates. This exercise Helped show me that by presenting images in a certain order can communicate an intended message. In this case it was a alternative way of communicating a famous persons name.

This is a screen grab from of the slides we made using Powerpoint. This exercise showed me that presenting images in a certain arrangement or order can communicate a piece of information effectively to others. This will be helpful in the future when presenting work and images in groups when showing an idea.

Colour Presentation

We were asked to complete a slideshow presentation about what we have learnt about color. This task was also to show what we have learnt about presentation communication. I think this task was helpful in the understanding of communicating through presentation. I also learnt a bit about using type and imagery with one and other to present outcomes and ideas. This task will be helpful for future presentations
